Occupational skills training focuses on developing needed skills and knowledge to succeed in the workplace. Skills training can be specific to the occupation or may be general skills training needed in all occupations (i.e., leadership, teamwork building, etc.). Young adults looking to better equip themselves for the workforce may want to explore national programs such as AmeriCorps and PeaceCorps. Local skills training programs in the State of Virginia are provided either by public/private institutions, employers, and or training centers.
