The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) offers an integrated and comprehensive range of services consisting of workforce development activities benefiting job seekers—adults, dislocated workers, youth, incumbent workers, new entrants to the workforce, veterans, individuals with disabilities—and employers.
WIA’s objective is to meet employers’ needs by increasing employment, job retention, earnings, and occupational skills among all job seeker populations. Job seekers first must meet WIA eligibility requirements to receive WIA-funded services. More information on the WIA program may be viewed on the WIA orientation video below. The orientation must be viewed prior to contacting a case manager or attending the next screening session.
QUESTIONS? If after viewing the WIA Orientation video, you have questions about the program or the process, you can attend a WIA Questions and Answers Webinar prior to attending an eligibility screening session. WIA Webinars are held every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. You can reserve a spot by contacting Jennifer Wayne at Jennifer.Wayne@fairfaxcounty.gov.
