The Northern Virginia Labor Market Information System is based on the 2005 Regional survey of employers in the Northern Virginia Business community. It was created to provide employers with valuable information about skill sets, labor market trends and salary information to help them find the right candidates to fit their needs.
Virginia's Electronic Labor Market Access (VELMA) – VELMA system provides access to various elements of labor market information collected and stored in Virginia's database.
Bureau of Labor Statistics – The Bureau of Labor Statistics is the principal fact-finding agency of the Federal Government for labor economics and statistics. BLS produces impartial, timely, and accurate data relevant to the social and economic conditions of our Nation, its workers, its workplaces, and the workers' families.
Occupational Employment Statistics – The OES program produces occupational employment and wage estimates for over 700 occupations. These estimates are available for the nation as a whole, individual states, and metropolitan areas. Occupational estimates for specific industries are also included.
Bureau of Economic Analysis – BEA is an agency of the Department of Commerce. BEA's economic statistics provide a comprehensive, up-to-date snapshot of the U.S. economy.
U.S. Census Bureau – The Census Bureau is the collector and provider of timely, relevant, and quality data about the people and economy of the United States.
Economics and Statistics Administration – ESA is a bureau within the U.S. Department of Commerce that tracks economic and social change. This information is chronicled, analyzed, and then explained. Political and business decisions are made based upon the economic and demographic information provided by this Bureau.
Department of Commerce – Statistical, economic, and demographic information collected by the Federal Government is made available to the public through the bureaus and offices of the Department of Commerce.
Department of Labor – The Department of Labor provides statistics based on employment and unemployment data, prices and living conditions, compensation and working conditions, productivity and technology, and employment projections.
