The WIB will use this site to post questions and answers received about the Northern Virginia Core Competencies for Workforce Professionals. Individuals within Partner organizations or at SkillSource Centers should forward questions to Lori Strumpf at strumpfctr@aol.com. Please place "Competency Q and A" in the reference line of your email. Questions will be answered directly to the individual, and then in an effort to share knowledge, questions and answers will be posted without attribution.
The Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board is pleased to announce a Professional Development Opportunity to enhance your competencies in several key areas critical to delivering Workforce services. This professional development opportunity is fully aligned with the NVWIB Competencies for Workforce Development Professionals and developed to support your efforts to develop the skills necessary to obtain your certification.
Who should participate? This training is available to all partner staff involved in the delivery of Workforce services with the NVWIB and SkillSource Centers. Even if you have already submitted your portfolio, enhancing these skills will be of great benefit to you and your customers.
Certificate of Attainment: Upon successful completion of the training sessions, you will be given the opportunity to complete a take home exam. If you score at least an 80% on the take home exam, you will be issued a certificate indicating your mastery at a baseline level for the specific indicators listed below.
Training will be presented by the Maryland Institute for Employment and Training Professionals (MIETP) and will be held at the South County Government Center, home to the South County SkillSource Affiliate Center.
