August 14, 2007 – Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board Announces Release of In-Depth Study to Assess the Impact of Workforce and Economic Development Resulting from Base Realignment

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will proclaim the week of June 12 as "Direct Care Workers Week," to recognize the importance of those who provide direct care on a long-term basis to our community's seniors and adults with disabilities. The Alliance's charge is to take action that will effect change in the delivery of health care services and to become a model for the nation in addressing the increasing demand for quality health care services. On October 18, 2004, the Virginia Workforce Council awarded $75,000 to the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board for Exemplary Performance in the conduct of its activities. June 2004 -- The Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board and the Fairfax County Long Term Care Coordinating Council signed a Memorandum of Agreement on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, establishing a strong collaboration between these two organizations. Bob Rogers, Chairman of the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board and President/CEO of The Chesapeake Center and Eileen Dohmann, the Chairman of the Long Term Care Coordinating Council, signed the MOA for both organizations.
